Design a new site with Catalog

I have been asked to 'assist' in creating an online shop for someone, but I only own Catalog. Therefore, am I to assume that the only way I can help, is for my friend to purchase a copy and for me to physically drive to her computer. Idealy i would like to design, or at least start her off, on my PC, with my software and then export her a snapshot.

If I attempt to register another site with Catalog I am prompted for an authorization code. Presumebly, if she bought a copy and I put the license code into my copy, hers could not be activated on her PC. I realise that I would probaly need Developer to do this properly but I was just trying to save time and petrol. I may suggest her asking for professional help but I just wanted to get her started, as the software, once you get the hang of it, is pretty straight forward.

Any ideas would be most welcome.

    Cheers

You can download the free 30 day trial.

Or you can just get her license key and work on her site in test mode.

can you use the 30 day free trial when you already have a copy running on your computer?
I didn't think you could, can you?

I would think the only way would be to temporarily use her new license key.
It would run both her copy and yours while you do the website.

Im am sure that the license agreement is a per site basis, and not a pc basis. So it makes no difference what pc you design it on, or several if you like just so long as it is only one website.

But as for the 30 day trial, sort of defeats the object really, just lets you keep you money for 30 days, but you cant then license the trial so you can start straight away i guess maybe a few days head start

Without the MultiSite version running 2 sites could prove a pain, especially if one of the sites is live as will require loading and reloading between the sites (and not in a friendly MS type of way)
