    Hierarchical .csv files - SubSectionListTop

    Hi,

Is anyone a dab-hand at dealing with Hierarchical CSV files?
I need to know the correct code within the "Section Layout" for listing the "Top Sub Section List Layout" as "No Layout".

I have tried this many ways in making changes to the csv file and importing it, however all have failed.
I have tried "No", "No Layout", "0", "1", "2", all of these with no luck.

Also I must import the csv file, as the csv file is joined to many other spreadsheets in the workbook due to weekly price changes.

    Many Thanks
    Barry

Try an export and see how actinic forms it, then copy that format for your import. Have you tried it as blank?

Yes i have tried exporting and copying the entire row, it is listed as blank, yet when this is imported back in, it just selects the "Use Parent".

      Any ideas?
      It's totally baffled me!

Wow. I just tried reading the Actinic Help regarding Hierarchical Import field names and it's woefully incomplete. For Section, only 15 field names are documented but when I export a demo site I get 40 named fields.

Likewise for Product where 61 fields are documented but an export contains 84.

So, forget the Help but do an Export and look at the field names in the Header:Section line.

        Here's the list I get.
        Code:
        Section name
        Section Description
        Section Image
        Section Meta Description
        Section Meta Keywords
        Section Included in Search
        Section Hidden on Web Site
        Page Name
        IsDeleted
        Section Use Parent Settings
Section Single Add To Cart Button
        Section Quantity Placement
        Exclude From Froogle Data Feed
        Page Title
        Include to Site Map
        Content Category
        ExtendedInfoPageDesign
        ExtInfoWindowWidth
        ExtInfoWindowHeight
        StandardLayout
        ProductLayout
        ProductList
        SingleAddToCartButton
        SubSectionListTop
        MainArea
        SectionLink
        ProductImageLayout
        PriceLayout
        AttributeLayout
        AttributeList
        ComponentLayout
        ComponentList
        FragmentLayout
        FragmentImage
        SubSectionListBottom
        SectionLinkColumnCount
        ProductColumnCount
        SectionLinkFirstRowColumnCount
        ExtendedInformationLinks
        ExtendedInformationType

Note also, that Actinic V8 tries to separate content from design. If you're talking about a Site level setting, then that's part of the design and will need to be imported via separate fields. See the Help (if you can trust it) for "Importing a Design into Actinic".

Right, i do understand what you mean however I can't seem to find anything in the help.
Would you suggest contacting Actinic Support and see if they could help me out with this?

I don't believe that information is exported or imported - hence why you can't change it.

I did some quick tests by Exporting a hierarchical file, changing the Top Sub Section List layout on a single Section and re-exporting to a different file name.

Then I compared the files with Winmerge ( http://winmerge.org/ ) and found that Actinic doesn't seem to differentiate between No Layout and Use Parent (in both cases the fields were empty).

If I use two different named layouts in the exports then I see the differences I expect.
