Actinic Crashing

Hello Everyone.

My install of Actinic keeps on crashing when I try to upload in test mode. Also the page preview just comes up with the message "the page can't be displayed".

I have tried reinstalling actinic and importing my snapshot in to it but the same problems occur. Has anyone got any suggestions on how I can fix this?

Can you view the page preview before importing your site, in the default installed site ?
Also are you importing into the same or higher version of Actinic that was used to create the snapshot?

When I reinstalled Actinic the basic site seemed to be correctly. It is the same version of actinic that the snapshot was created in, it's Actinic Business version 8.5.1 hera.

I've also noticed that £ signs are showing as ?.

This is a very common problem, solution in the forum many times and i think Jo compiled a post for the KB with the solution. It's to do with the settings on your server. If solution isn't in the KB (should be by now) then the answer is in Jo's KB thread in the wishlist forum.

What is your charset? UTF8 or Iso-8859-1

I don't think it could be a problem with the server as it is locally that the symbols are incorrect. I've not uploaded the store to test it, mainly because my customer wants to see the snapshot before it is uploaded, and also I can't upload in test mode because it just crashes everytime.

The snapshot was fine last week, I added some more products to it. I sent the snapshot back to the customer and he had some difficulties loading the snapshot. I have since made extensive changes to the template and now there are a whole series of problems occuring.

I'm thinking about just going back to the last snapshot that was in full working order and redoing all the changes I've made. It's an annoyance of course.
