    Lightbox Effect Vista In-Built IE

    Hi,

This isnt really an Actinic issue, however it may cause a few problems to designers such as myself.

I have previously been using lightbox and bought a new laptop, Medion.

I just wondered if people have had or known of problems with this as it doesnt work with vista in built, in Internet Explorer it work fine on other computers or my old laptop, just not this.

I have tried Monzilla Firefox and it works, even tho it does not display correctly, this could be a firefox issue.

If anyone knows of possible fixes, could you please lead me in the right direction.

    Regards
    Barry

I see that failure too (http://www.wheels.uk.com/new/acatalo...w-nirvana.html) in Vista and Firefox 2.0.0.9.

I've done an integration of Lightbox with Actinic (see http://www.drillpine.biz/v8lightbox/acatalog/Books.html for a demo). My patch auto creates the scaled down icons from up to 10 extra images and adds them to a lightbox slideshow automatically. Just haven't got round to publicising it yet.

I tried your site and mine with Vista / Firefox and mine is fine while yours fails.

So it could be some error in your setup that's causing this.

        SOLVED!

Just for the record if people experience the same problem i have been...

        Basically I went to Tools, Manage Add-Ons, Enable/Disable Add-Ons....

Here i disabled alot that i knew i didnt need, specifically Google for the Toolbar, and sunconsole for java.
        However this works now!

        Thanks for you time!

Not really because it's only fixed for you. People are not going to disable add-ins on their browsers.

I used a clean install of Firefox 2.0.0.9 on Vista. It fails on the Wheels site but is OK on mine.

You have duplicate copies of the Actinic scripts between your head tags (before and after the lightbox scripts) and the Lightbox display is screwed up.

You should probably revert (or sort manually) you head layout and then redo the Light box installation from scratch, I would imagine this would sort your problems.
                Cheers
