Partial Snapshot export and then import

    HELP

    Hi,
I’m stuck on Sunday, wondering if anyone could help with what could be a simple answer.
I exported a partial snapshot with some of the options not selected like network settings, orders and layout. So when I got the snapshot back and imported it back into v8 multi site it was restricted to content only.
The design tab and the orders tab were missing and the upload and download functions were grey.
How can I get back my original settings with this snapshot?
Is it a command line thing?
I couldn’t find any settings to reinstated the design features menu items and didn’t find the answer on the forum.

    Thanks

    Iain

Go into settings | business settings | options, just sounds like your settings for the machine are messed up, i.e. you do not have design changes and order processing ticked.

Went to the settings and all the settings are greyed out except catalog maintenance.

        exported a partial snapshot
Simple answer is that partial snapshots dont work! - loads of posts on the subject.

It has been "fixed" in the latest beta release - so try it and let us know if it now works.

Thanks, but the beta's not a stable version, so I can't use it on a live site.
So will back track and lose a day of production.

                Thanks

Beta's should never be considered stable or used on a live site. The beta has been out for a while now and hopefully the production release shouldn't be too long now.

I don't think you mwan 'Partial Snapshot' here - I think you're using the 'Deploy Site Snapshot' option don't you?

The guys here are right that the 'Partial Site Design' is only good for transferring occassional layouts (and it hasn't been doing that too well during v8's lifetime) buy you actually need to do a registry hack to enable content processing etc for the site on your PC.

To do this, you need to speak directly to support via http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm and they can give you the info you need.
