The link works fine for me, problem is that your PDF files is not where you say it is. Include it into design > additional files and then upload and then try.

True - the link does appear to be correct now - it certainly wasn't before. Uploading the file will sort it now.

I have the file in my "site 1" folder where all my web images etc are stored. I have refreshed the website but the link does not seem to work still. Should I start from scratch i.e. delete the file from the folder then re-add it and re-do the code - could this make a difference? Or should I create a new folder within site 1? Many thanks for your help.

Why don't you just do what i suggested? why are you guessing at solutions?

Because I thought you meant create a new folder - I am new to the Actinic software and so not that familiar with it - sorry! I have looked in Actinic and can see what you mean now. It was not my intention to ignore your advice - I simply didn't fully understand it.

Nothing wrong with being new or not understanding what someone advises, but tell them so they can advise further? If i give you 2 sentences to follow to fix it, thinking you can completely ignore one and it will still fix is a bit out there as an idea.

Really sorry to report back that I have put the pdf into the additional files as advised and refreshed the site but it is still not working.

Then you must have the name of the PDF file wrong, either lower case for a capital or something like that. It must be exactly as you have coded it, it's almost certainly not and that is the problem.

TIP: if you cannot directly access the file in your browser by typing in the filename within the acatalog folder, then no link ever will either.

In fact that is 100% the problem, just found your file, you're pointing to a file starting with a capital, whereas your file name does not.

I don't understand as this was one of the first things I thought I had checked with it being such an obvious possible problem. I must have been reading one thing and seeing another. Thank you so much for your persistence - it really is appreciated! All seems to be working fine now.

All i can say Hannah and believe me as a coder i speak with much experience in this area is that when you have checked things so many times, all the complicated stuff will be perfect. It is always the simple stuff that is the problem. The longer a problem exists, the more blindingly obvious the solution will be, it's just how humans work i think, by defaulting to it must be the difficult stuff.

A great tip when checking code is to read it upside down or from right to left, it paints a new picture in your head and you can sometimes not gloss over something obvious. Although if you see w and W i think your brain can still skip it. So the solution is to always lower case or always camel case for stuff like that.

                        Glad you're sorted anyway.
