    Difference between 8.5.1HFUA versions

    <rant>

    Picture this...
    • I design a site for a client in 8.5.1HFUA
    • I load Catalog Client 8.5.1HFUA onto their machine
    • I export a snapshot from my machine.
    • I import snapshot onto clients machine.
    • I do further design work on my machine, without changing any settings or adding attributes etc.
    • Client concurrently updates catalog with products.
    • Client exports hierarchical file.
    • I import hierarchical file (so I can then export a snapshot as I don't trust partial deployment yet....)
    Well, I try to!!

    When I get to the screen to map fields for Product table, I have 3 more Actinic fields than are on the import file (Tax Treatment, Share With Actinic EPOS & Barcode) (and Actinic EPOS Link is not enabled on either machine...!!)

    When I get to the screen to map fields for the Attribute table, the import file is missing the Type field.

    So, it imports and when it gets to "Closing Import" I get
    "An unexpected error occurred while trying to carry out the import. Please check your setting and try again."
    (twice!!)

    Actinic then crashes and won't load until I've rebooted my machine.

    So, after having restored the backup I took immediately before the import, I thought I'd test it by exporting and importing from my version. This time the Product table translation is only missing the Tax Treatment field.

    Have I missed something here? Done something arse about face?

    </rant>

    ** feel better for that!! **

    So, do I load the products manually or fiddle about with the hierachical file?

    Settings > Business Settings > Options

    Deselect "Auto Generate Product References"

    Imports fine now.

    Still have problems with missing fields though.

    (Oh! and remember to reselect "Auto Generate..." afterwards.)
