    Mental Block: Change Default QTY from 1

    Don't take the p%%s

    I cannot for the life of me remember how to change the default qty from 1 to 0 on the product pages

    Help............please

        tbh I'm not sure
        But can't you just replace the "DefaultQuantity" variable with 0 in the layout?

            I don't think you can - it doesn't look like they've exposed this in v8.
            Where was it in v7?

                I might have the wrong end of the stick here but is it...

                Settings|Business Settings|Ordering|Misc (2/3 way down) and deselect order quantity always one.

                Or is that restricting ordering to one?

                    But on a default store, "order qty always one" is already deselected yet the DefaultQuantity variable gives an entry of 1 in these quantity boxes.

                        I think that's so you can either set things globally or via each product manually. Unless i'm mistaken i think we have had an extra feature added here, but in fact we have ended up with less functionality.

                            But you can't change the min quantity to zero is has to be 1 or greater.

                              That seems logical though surely, if you want less than 1 of the item, then you don't want it at all?
