    Product Layout Problem

I have been working on a new product layout, however when I have more than 1 product in a section the layout goes haywire and moves everything over to the right - first example below - the first product is exactly how I want it to be, the 2nd is how it goes out of alignment.Have looked at product code and overall layout and can't find anything that could be causing it.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    TIA

ok...run through that again because I've looked in both FF2 and IE7 (and 6) and both pages look fine!

    Unless I'm missing the problem

ermm..that all looks a bit messed up.

unless someone else has a revelation, maybe you better post your product layout (don't forget the [CODE] tags )

without seeing the code, check your layout tab in the 3rd product.

is it using parent or has it got one all of its own?

I'd gamble on an incorrectly closed tag on a table, probably a <td>, but to be honest that is one of the hardest i have ever tried to decipher. It has more nested tables than a Jonty design. You have a lot of <td colspan="1" also, which is pointless as a <td> does that without you telling it, it's only when you need over 1 that you specify it.

You really need to have a clear up Kathy to be honest, what you are doing could probably be done in 60% less code and still give the same look.

Thanks Lee - are you refering to the overall layout? If so know that is a mess and planning a full redesign after Christmas was just trying to get new product layout working now. All other product layouts work fine - just this new one that's off - so obviously something I've done in last 2 days.

All products have same layout - even changed the default layout in site settings to be the new one in case something was being overridden.

Can you make sure that 'use parent' is set on all selections on the layout tab of the product and its parent section, that will ensure it's the same as the others and narrow it down to this specific set of products. Are you embedding anything or doing anything different? Is image size the same? Cross check everything on a working section against this one, i'd expect to see something different somewhere.

Am I safe to assume, if I license a new site (have developer copy) and use the standard new site with the demo products that Actinic put in, and then copy the new layout design into the new site and the problem still occurs that the issue is with the new layout template and nothing else?

Just trying to narrow down where problem might be!

                        I don't see why not..

however, you could post your code here and we can look at it

Also, check your product list settings? (columns/rows) Is the problem site-wide?

Did you revert your section layout to factory after you had problems with it the other day?

Its 99% sure to be your layout Kathy, what you propose should show that yes, the only variable in that is if the image is causing it, but i doubt it. I honestly think you'd be quicker reverting the layout and starting again, sometimes you have to go backwards to go forwards. I can pretty much read code like it is English and even i adopt this approach at times, it's just quicker.
