    breadcrumbs in brochure pages

Cant find a solution on this through searching - I want to add breadcrumbs in the non shop pages of a site - i was hoping to use pageType with a block if but this does not filter out shop/non shop pages but puts it in both...

They all sit at the same level, so not really what you would call a breadcrumb trail available unless i'm misunderstanding you. The lot sits in acatalog folder etc. If you do page type not equal to 'section' or page type equal to 'brochure', you can separate that way.

I think i've read it wrong though.

I was just pondering over that too

What kind of "trail" are you expecting to show on the brochure pages?

Hi Lee - im using breadcrumbs for all product pages which work fine but actinic doesnt let you use them in static pages that you add e.g. an about us page.

I can build these using pageTitle but if I drop this in to a page it also adds them to product pages I then get two lots of breadcrumbs in...

        example is at http://hibaby.whitehatmedia.com

content page - works ok http://hibaby.whitehatmedia.com/acat...y-diaries.html

product page - two lots of breadcrumbs

something like home / pregnancy glossary (from page title)

just simple stuff - i have two outer page templates, one for brochure and one for prods but adding the block if to one adds to both so very confused... (i used to enjoy fridays...)

Ah with you now i think, you want a custom variable for BC trail on brochure pages and this is used (on brochure pages) instead of the standard offering.

Or forget brochure pages and create a hierarchy of brochure pages using sections instead. Just put fragments in instead of products or subsections.

Not really dude, fragments drag and drop, only the sections to create.

Get on with it Kevin and stop whinging lol. It's about 4 minutes to add a variable to decide whether they show or not in your section list. I honestly don't see how else you can do this unless you do the custom variable route. But even then you are going to need to create a blockif, so just go the custom variable instead.
