Is there a limit on the number of customer accounts supported?

    Hello all,

I've searched for the answer to this question in the forums and on the Actinic site but haven't been able to find it, so apologies if it's already been answered elesewhere and I've missed it.

I know there's an upper limit for products but I just need to know if there's also one for customer accounts. The figure we're looking at currently is 100,000+ and we need to know if this is going to be possible or not before we take our client down the Actinic route.

If anyone has the definitve answer on this (particularly Actinic themselves) I'd very much appreciate it.

    Many thanks.

100,000+ accounts, you're on the wrong product IMO.

Thanks, Lee. This is what I was thinking. We actually have another product we're looking at as well but we use Actinic for smaller shops so I wanted to find out what the upper limit was with accounts.

In fairness, the upper limit would be dictated by your time and not the software constraints IMHO

I agree with this wholeheartedly, but time is money as they say and that would just make no sense to spend that much time on this. Actinic is an ecommerce store with a side dish of an accounting system. It's just not good enough with little in place to automate the process. This is not a criticism of actinic though, using actinic to do 100,000+ accounts would be like using a Ford Cortina in an F1 Grand Prix, it's just a different marketplace IMO.

If i had 100,000+ active account purchasers then I'd be very happy.
Unfortunately I doubt very much I'd be using Actinic though.

Exactly, if things are that big, it gets done in house in my experience. That many accounts would have you second only to high street banks.
