CSV and custom Variables in V8.5.1 HIZA

Hi all,

I've tried to add a couple of custom variables so that i can import the following values from a flat csv file:

Onorder (qty that is available to order from distribution)
Duedate (the date due into distribution)

The flat csv file does not want to map to these actinic fields (they are not being shown as available in the list of fields on the rhs)
They have however been created within actinic as new variables.

A quick search of the forums seems to indicate that this had been solved, but may have raised it's head again in this version
Anyone else had these problems and managed to conquor them?

Flat file imports only allow the importing of a set number of Actinic fields. It won't let you import into user defined one.

You could possibly use some spare fields (e.g. the Detail Link Text or
Extended Info Link Text) instead.

I've tried doing that as suggested

It maps to those fields, but doesn't show any text/numbers when imported.

I'll sit and play (having backed up!!)

Yippee... At last I can help!
In your Actinic root folder, 'C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\ there is a file called 'FlatFileConverter.exe'
This will convert your flat file to a Hierarchical file..
You can map sections as well as products or whatever to the respective fields as you wish.
One thing I would advise is to compress the database after you have created the new variables, ('Housekeeping/Compress Database').
They will not show in the import process until you have done this.
