    maestro not going through?

My client using actinic v8 is having problems getting maestro cards to go through and i am unsure what the problem is.

I have read around and there is 3dsecure not sure what that is but could this be the problem?

We are using actinic v8, secure-hosting and epdq to process payments. The secure hosting templates have been upgraded to the latest so im thinking that i may need to do something else with actinic.

Any ideas has anyone had this problem before?

There has been another maestro problem mentioned in the forum over the past week or so, can't say for sure it was the same thing, but might be worth trying a search for it. I think it was in the PSP forum, try there first if noone can help you.

        From the secure hosting website

Do you have 3D Secure (VbV and MasterCard SecureCode)?
Yes. 3D Secure is available as an option, at no extra charge. The setup process and associated timescales for 3D Secure vary from bank to bank. If you require 3D Secure then please contact sales to be sent the relevant instructions. You can only start the process of registering for 3D Secure if you have a live merchant number for internet transactions.
Has he registered for 3d secure? I believe it's been mandatory for Maestro/Visa debit cards for a few months now.

you mean the client must register their merchant account to use 3dsecure?

or you mean the user buying something must have 3dsecure enabled?

Yes. They must get their merchant account 3d secure enabled and then get secure hosting to turn it on.

                Important - ePDQ service news

You should shortly be receiving a letter from Barclaycard announcing some changes to their ePDQ service. One of these changes is very significant, and affects your ability to process card payments via the ePDQ MPI that you use.

The letter states that Barclaycard are decommissioning the current ePDQ MPI which is used by third parties such as SecureHosting to connect to the ePDQ payment gateway.

What this means in simple terms is that you will no longer be able to process card payments to ePDQ via this service.

The exact deadline for when this will take effect is determined by Barclaycard, but they have indicated that it will be on 1st March 2008.

In addition to this, due to changes to the way Maestro cards are processed, Maestro cards will cease to work for online payments from January 2008 using our ePDQ MPI.

However, we have a solution that will allow you to continue to process transactions beyond this date, including Maestro cards. It is painless to set up, requires no changes to your web site, and will still process payments through to your Barclaycard merchant account.

If you would like to discuss this option with us, please contact as asap on 0870 241 2236 option 1. Please complete the attached form "BMS_NewMerchant.zip" if you wish to use the alternative UPG payment gateway.
