Applying a discount to an item selected

Hi,

I'm having a real problem with applying a discount to a certain size product.
We sell wool duvets and underblankets and I want to offer a 20% discount on all SuperKing sized products. Because we have the product sized by selection it doesn't work even though it lets us create a product group called SuperKing and it let us apply a discount the SuperKing products do not get discounted.
I've raised this with UK product support who have given me a horrible workaround (remove the Superking product from the selection and un-hide the Superking product) however this makes the webpage look horrible and I've already lost two sales because people don't think we sell SuperKing sized products.

As the developers have stated that there is not scheduled fix date in V8 or V9 and it is a complicated fix I am left high and dry.

Any help/suggestions or comments from others who are in the same predicament would be useful.

You're a bit stuck here. Another option is to price the Superking size with discount alreay included and then make it very clear on the product that that is the case.

Do as Duncan suggests and use a strikethrough on the old price to show the reduction or put some text on the product image to show the discounted price - KISS

Thanks you two for your replies, I'll use the strikethrough text as part of the selection.
Its a shame the function doesn't work correctly though as we use selelctions throughout the site.
