Ok, so here goes, i have fallen out with a person who was holding my hand through an upgrade process from V6 - V8 and now it has come to her saying she will restore my old site and end it there which is fair comment as i am not happy with what she is charging. (more details if that is required)

The problem:
I am not up on upgrading the software from 6 - 8 and therefore need someone who is upto speed with this to help with a pre defined price for doing so (the last agreement was open ended which was a big mistake)

The job:
To make my site look class with me doing the product updates after the site is up and running. To integrate with SECPAY and test for all glitches!

I would try putting it through the V8 upgrader first - you may be surprised.

many thanks and excuse my ignorence but is that something once you have upload the software onto your system that V8 can do?

Instal V8 onto your PC - it will be separate to V6

Take a snapshot from V6 and import it into V8 - then follow the wizard and at the end it will ask if you want to maintain your current design or convert to the default V8 theme.

You can do the process as many times as you want so dont worry about breaking things. Once you are happy you can switch to test mode in V8 and upload to see what the site looks like live - when you are 100% happy you can switch to production mode and upload which will replace your V6 site.

Have a play before committing yourself - remember Actinic support may do it all for you if you ask nicely
