20% discount throughout the store?

Hi All

One of our customers wants to be able to offer 20% discount on ALL products within the shop. They have the catalog client version.

Is this possible? And how? Never done it before!

MARKETING | DISCOUNTS, and then click on help to read up about it. The program help is very good on things like this and often overlooked.

If its a flat rate, global 20% discount to everyone then yes, they should be able to do it.

Go to Marketing > Discounts & surcharges and they should be able to set one up as a %age discount.

I have created a discount for 20% off.

Do I need to manually go to each item in the shop and apply the discount? Or am I missing something obvious which applies the discount to the whole store?

Plus, will my client have discount options in Catalog Client?

you can apply the discount to the cart total.
hmmm..actually, I see your thinking...you're wanting the store prices to DISPLAY the 20% off??

Might be quicker/easier to make sure there are notices about informing customers that a 20% discount will be given in the cart, tbh

Ok, i found a way to do it, and (IMAGE ONE) is how it looks. However, when talking the customer through this on the phone, I discovered that they didn't have the "Cart Contents" tab. They only have "Order Level" and "Miscellaneous" tabs.

Can I make 20% off all products work using any of these tabs?! I'm stuck!


Also, if I asked them for a snapshot, created the discounts etc and sent it back to them. Would it keep all the discounts etc??

Catalog or Client only do the very basic level discount (order level), so no. You must be using business or designer i expect, hence the extra tabs. However, order level discount will still do what you want if a global 20% off the total is what you are after.

Okay. Well to be honest a global 20% off is exactly what I want. I'm struggling to understand which options I need to set in the "Order Level" tab to make this happen though

You take it far as you can, provide a screenshot of where you got to and i will tell you what else you need to do from there. I must admit though, you sound defeated before you have even tried, it really is simple. Name it on the left, set what it is to run on from the drop down boxes and set your levels below.

There's not much you can do wrong to be honest. If you click on the '?' and point it to the various areas, it should tell you what those parts do and how they work. It even tells you which parts of the help files to read if you are stuck.
