I only ever submit a .txt file to GoogleBase (I use the MoleEnd Froogle generator)
How? MoleEnd will only let me save as xml?

I just converted a file to text and uploaded that on the Google Base site so we'll see if that works!

    What fun!!

like I said, I don't use the GB feed generator for my GB feed, I use the moleend Froogle mash which does create a txt file.

Ah I see, sorry, thought you were just referring to it by the old name. Will try that now as the other one I just did failed again!

        Thanks

          Recent e-mail reply from Google:

          "Hello John,

Thank you for your email. As stated in the earlier email that while we can verify your items are active in search results, we cannot guarantee they will be displayed for any particular search query. Please know that our results are not biased by human intervention, we are unable to provide specific guidelines for making your items appear for certain queries.
Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

          Yours sincerely,

          The Google Team"

So, I'm still stumped unfortunately! - I export a feed from Actinic as a txt file -import it as a data feed into Google Base - everything goes fine; all items appear in GoogleBase and when I do a search for a product within GoogleBase, GreyTowersInteriors appears next to various competitors.

Google Product Search still remains the problem - if I do the same search in Product Search, all the competitors appear but not Grey Towers Interiors?

          Ho Hum

          Regards

          John

OOH!! It just said success finally. I guess now following John's post we'll see how things turn up in searches.

Is GB good for you Tracey?

How long do they take to get the ads listed then. It say 15 - 60 minutes and it's been longer than 24 hours now.

It just shows a list of my items and says Published - Searchable Soon.

Do they take longer to check you out or something when submitting for the first time or are they just asleep?

                  Cheers

I don't really remember but I know others have commented.
As for timescale, I'm unsure..maybe someone else can recall?

actually, I think you'll find it's three times as long as a third of it!
                            so you're ALL wrong

And finally, they are now searchable!

Of course I have absolutely no idea where they are and if I can put in the exact product name and not find my stuff anywhere then I don't suppose I got much hope of traffic!

Oh for a job carrying bloody bricks on a building site
