Is it possible to add a product into the login layout?

Hi,

I have added a product as advised in the advanced guide in order to simulate the online registration process.. at the moment it is sitting on the top level of my store.. I would really like to add this product into the login layout so that when a customer clicks on the login/register link the normal login fields are there and underneath this option to register..

So basically.. is it possible to add a product into the login layout? I have tried and it errors out. Any ideas?

Sorry Ally, I don't think this is possible, as products can only appear in sections.

However, you could always add the login content into a new custom outer layout (just copy and paste the contents of 'Standard Login Layout' into the overall layout just above where it says 'INNERLAYOUT'). You could then use this outer layout to turn a section into a faux login page. The only other thing you'd need to do is change all your login links to point to this new section instead of the standard login page.
