shopping cart bouncing back to home page

Hi there

I have recently upgraded to v8 and when I add to cart it bounces back

to my home page

the shopping mode is set to quantity on product page how

can I change this

I was going to test this but the page I ended up on acatalog/Parchment_Flowers.html was so huge that I couldn't even get it to fully load, on my rather slow broadband connection, and gave up!

The top image alone was over 350kb and I saw at least 4 or 5 others trying to load, amongst smaller ones.

I can't help with the problem because I don't have the patience to wait for it to finish...I know you need good, clear images but you really really need to look at optimising them.

You've set the bounce delay to 60 seconds. I.e.

Not sure why it's going to the wrong page though.

Also, as Tracey says, your image filesizes are HUGE - 360Kb for a product image, when they could be 1/10 of that.

That page Tracey mentioned is 3.5Mb. The page needs splitting and the images need optimising.

After adding to cart it did eventully bounce to your homepage. Have you changed the bounce delay?

I had the same problem post upgrading, support said they couldn't find a problem but going into design text and restoring all defaults sorted it still don't know why.

Since I upgraded our membership application site from 8.0.4 -> 8.5.2 this has happened twice in one week. The site is small with few graphics, but it is two out of many OK transactions. Still, it never happened before. Let's see what happens when I upgrade our online shop.

The problem trying to troubleshoot this sort of issue is when you ask the customer to describe what happened and when during the process they don't come back with anything useful.

thank you for your suggestions

I take your point regarding images and will have to sort that out

but regarding the bouncing issue I have set the time to 6 seconds

and also tried the re-setting factory defaults and it is still the same

if I click on continue shopping this also takes me back to the

front brochure page

any ideas

Add to cart now bouncing in 6 seconds which is good.

I see that the bounce works properly in Firefox but not in IE. Weird.

Doesn't work for me in either FF or IE.

I also notice that some of the section pages are named with underscores - some also include '&'.

Could this in some way be related to being hosted on a windows server?
