    Checking email address

Hi. I use a code to check if email address is available. See attached doc. It works well, but it doesn't check if there is a dot before the country, so sometimes clients enter a ; or : instead of a . so I cannot send mail to them : does it exist a similar code, checking also the "dot".
    Thanks

Hi. I've checked again, and made a mistake on the previous post : the dot is checked (I've tried using ; or : and I get an error message). So I cannot explained why I sometimes get bad email address. Is there somebody to explain this ?

I assuming you're doing this in javascript. Not everyone has javascript enabled.

We added a compulsary second email address line in the customer info page, this has improved accuracy a LOT.

here too G..although I do find that sometimes I get the repeated email address line printed on reports instead of the "reason for alternative delivery address" field.
Never had chance to investigate how/why (only happens sometimes.... perhaps browser specific) but it certainly is an easy fix

I think Mike is probably right, it can be a problem with javascript.
              for example : stephane.los.santos@gmail;com or mathieu.changenet@wanadoo:fr
I thought that it was not possible to run actinic if javascript is not enabled on the computer ?
But this problem is quite scarce, not more than 1 from 300/400 !
