    8.5.2 Bug, Tax?

    Hi

I have recently changed my Locations (for shipping) as my courier company has decided the Scottish Highlands will cost a lot more! Because I send large packages, it was an absolute must!

So now I have UK, with regions England + Wales, and Scottish Highlands and Islands - Scotland, Channel Islands and Northern Ireland.

So all my old orders just had a location of Mainland UK, which is now Invalid.

The upshot is, I had to re-do my tax zones. This is where it got weird! Suddenly even though I had correctly added the Zones and new offline orders came on with VAT, if I clicked on an old order it deleted the VAT element and then put the order back into pending as excess payment received.

Then I tried to click on the order, to change the location to one of the new ones and reset the vat to the correct percentage. It won't do it. Also, if I then cancel that item, and put it in again on the same order, still no VAT.

If I create a new order, exactly the same individual, with the new location, there is no problem.

Secondly, I went online to place an order that way and nearly had a major coronary! None of my products were showing VAT when I added them to the shopping cart.

When I went through checkout, I selected the correct countryand location and it did not amend the vat, but DELETED the order on the next page.

I had DELIVERY address as the address where to charge VAT, when I changed this to INVOICE it now works.

Also the program had, major major wobblies when I made some fairly fundamental changes to the way my site worked, it kept crashing and I had to consistently compact the databases and purge everything it just really did not like what I was doing.
Okay, I pulled the pin. Now what?... Wait!...Where are you going?

      I did consider that!

Yeah, unfortunately there isn't anyone cheaper! I guess for some Highland locations £5.99 shipping wouldnt cover the fuel cost!

Ahh well, if anyone knows of something blatantly obvious I am doing wrong would appreciate an idea, otherwise I am assuming its just a bug.
