Error Message When Trying To Update Site

    Hi All,

Firstly, many thanks to 'Budgetbumps' and 'Leehack' for helping me on my last thread, much appreciated.

Now for my latest problem, I have looked throughout the forum, but cannot find an answer to my present predicament, the nearest I can find is this one:
    http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=24091
but it is not quite the same problem as I have.

I get the Catalog - Internet Sales Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience when I try to update my site, it gets so far and then stops with this error message.

I have tried a site refresh and this comes up with the same error message in exactly the same place, (Generating also bought marketing list for Sunshine Yellow Cups) so I deleted and purged the cups and following few items in the Sunshine Yellow catagory, re-entered them and tried again. This time it completed the 'marketing list' bit and went onto 'checking the html pages' (which had no problems) and 'checking catalogue' where it now gets stuck on another product and I get the error message again. I don't really want to have to delete and re-enter products all through the catalog as this would take forever.

We have two computers with the actinic catalog on (one at work the other at home) they are both current as I do a snapshot export and a snapshot import each time I go from one to the other. The last update I did was on the computer at work and this worked fine.

The only thing I can think of that might be causing a problem is (possibly) the age of my home computer or that the developer, that has helped us to create the website, asked me to compact the catalog on the computer at work and upload the site via ftp so that he could sort a problem out.

I just wondered if I should do a compact on my home computer ( I didn't think I would need to do this as the site export I took from the work computer would already have been compacted) and if this would help?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Caroline.

p.s I have also taken two site snapshots and have them stored on two different flashdrives, just in case!

Try a database compact and repair in MSAcess.

Try making a snapshot, this may show up where the problem is and can do no harm
