Changing Store section list in Smart Theme

I think this might be covered somewhere but I cant find it.

I'm using the Smart theme and would like to know how to change the Store section list on the left so it shows the main sections but hides the sub sections. If possible I would like the sub sections to appear when my mouse is on a main section but this is not as important

    Please help with this

Change the top level section list layout in site options.

That didn't do the trick but thanks for the reply. the section I'm referring to is the store sections on the left and runs with CGI script if i have that correct.

        Thanks again

Ah sorry you are using the Yahoo list on the smart template (i presume). You need to replace the layout that currently brings in the sections and replace that with the top level section list layout (pink underlined) by inserting the layout in the design tab.

It's an ideal time to get rid of that current list you are using, it really is pants anyway IMO. Insert the new list and style it in site options like i mentioned before you remove the old one, make sure you like it.

Just take out what you put in, hopefully you left the existing code in while you was testing? It will look different until you style it though, as you are changing the method of nav on that theme to something generic.

You'd need to understand a bit of html and css really. I think the AUG lets you limit what you are currently using to just show the top level sections, it may be best to keep it simple and just do that instead.
