Where's the preview button gone??

I've just noticed that the preview button (which is usually in the extended information tab on a product) is missing?!

See screenshot. Any ideas?

I typed
extended info preview
into the Google search and result number 2 was THIS



it was number 3 when I did a normal forum search on it!

My bad, i just searched within the V8 - General section, but heck nevermind, I've been told. Thanks for the link, lets hope it works.

Thought I would say I have got this sorted, encase any on else has the problem. It has taken a while though.

It required an export of the stock file and a re-import, with compact and repairs before and after.

The whole thing was made more complicated by the fact that I couldn't do an export, because of a couple of corrupt sections.

How do you export the stock file? Never done this before!

Jethro probably means the Products file which is what happens when you do File / Export.

I have tried exporting the catalog file and re-importing after compacting the database. The preview button appears once again, but all the product pages in the shop are litrally buggered. (products missing, content missing, jumbled images etc..). So I had to re import a previous snapshot which has made the Preview button dissapear once again.

Any other ideas, I'm stuck!

I have finally figured it out!

Incase anyone else has this problem (I feel very sorry for you) but here's what I did:

- Went to Design | Library | Layouts...
- Double clicked ExtendedInfoPageDesign
- Unticked "Product" from place of setting.
- Pressed OK.
- Double clicked ExtendedInfoPageDesign again.
- Checked the "Product" again from place of setting.
- Pressed OK.
- Pressed Close.

I've seen tabs and property entry fields go AWOL after an Export / Import. Last time only a few days ago with 8.5.1.HIZA.

The cure has usually been similar to what you discovered. All underlying data is still there but Actinic has lost track of where it should be displayed - unsetting and resetting the Place of Setting or the Tab Name fixes it.

I can't see anything specific about this on the fixed list for 8.5.2.
