    Missing Properties Tab

I thought this had been covered but unable to find ... some newly created sub-sections are missing the "layout" tab at the section level. They are there in the others but not on some! Can anyone remember where the thread is (assuming I am not day-dreaming again).

    Site is on v8.5.1.

    THIS ONE ??

    or perhaps THIS ONE ??

I remember reading it before too but I'm not sure if it was either of these or not.

to be honest, I was feeling generous and it did take me 4 attempts at a Google search to find those!

Just for interest, Did you Import these Sections (from a csv) or recently Import other Products /Sections?

I've seen bizarre missing tabs and properties within tabs after some textfile imports.

They are both the same link.. you could have saved yourself 2 google attempts

I did find that one but that was for a new tab and not the standard out of the box tab that should be there by default.

Everything has been added manually - not an import in sight

                  Hi John

What version of the software are you running. We've made some changes in 8.5.2 to property handling, which could help with this, if you are not on this already.

Otherwise, the way to get all your user-definable properties reporting for duty correctly is generally to do an export of your catalog as a hierarchical file, delete and purge the store and then re-import everything back in. This can get rid of anything rogue that might be causing issues.

                  Obviously take a snapshot beforehand.

ooops...they weren't supposed to be LOL

I must have C&Ped the same one twice and shut the other one down!
I'm sure one was relating to a standard tab though, not a custom one so, knowing my luck, it was the window I closed!
Sorry 'bout that (they both came up in the same search in the end anyway )

                      *sighs*

Kinell Chris, you're kidding! Mr Cautious will probably be on 8.5 for the next 6 months, just to let 8.5.2 bed in.

Please don't pick on fellow forum members when they have tried to help you, you really should be a bit more grateful. She may have given you a horse with no teeth, but at least she could find the horse!

Or maybe I'll just flounce and refuse to help him in the future
