Changing layout for Best Seller List causes Fatal Error ??

    Hi,

For some reason when changing the layout for the Best Sellers list in the Site Options, Actinic gives the fatal error message below:

"Actinic encountered a fatal error. Details of this error have ben saved to 'C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Catalog_8_5_2_0_0_0_HMVA_0801291150.dmp'. Please send this file to Actinic for investigation"

When you press ok it comes up with a error message about reading an instruction in referenced memory and then crashes. Unfortunately when I reload Actinic it has screwed up my layout somehow. Everything is still there but is all left hand justified and each item fills the whole width of the page, i.e. you get the logo, then underneath the main sidebar menu, underneath that the content then undeneath that the right sidebar etc.

I've tried to go back through the Site Options etc to fix it but nothing seems to change it back and when I went back to the best seller layout to see if that would make a difference, it crashed again. Obviously I'll be sending the error messages and dump files off to actinic tomorrow but has anyone else experienced this and know how to fix it please?

    Many Thanks

Sounds like there was memory error when it tried to write to the database, I'd follow the advice and hand it over to Actinic technical support. Bummer...

The Web's just settling in. We got the tech, now let's put up something that matters.

If you can revert back to what still works then try disabling the best sellers before making design changes to the layout - long shot but it might help.

I have a few snap shots and back ups that I can try to revert too (unfortunately not enough of them doh!). I'm new to Actinic and just finding my feet - but still - no excuse for not backing up enough.

When I did the course I rememeber the instructor showing us some kind of way of reverting back to previous points in the design where you picked out where to revert back to by going through a list of the changes that had been made or something? Does that make any sense? If so can somone point me to where you can do that - I just can't remember.

        Thanks

You can find out which layouts have been changed by going to teh Design Library and clicking the little box on the bottom left side. You will have to expand the tree afterwards to see which have an asterix to denote they have been changed.
