Updating checkout.

Evening all !

Please could somebody help me with this little problem.

What I would like my customers to do is select a delivery area in the second page of the checkout, and then reload the page with the new selection/delivery cost.

Is this possible ? I know messing with this area is not recommended.

I've tried adding the update button from the cart, but this sends you back to the previously visited section.

Maybe one of the experts would be kind enough to have a look at the site and add a product to checkout, sure it explain my question better than I can.

Have read all I can on the subject and changed the site...

Now when I add an item to the cart, I'm prompted to select the delivery location and then it bounces back, that's okay, but if I add another I then have to select again.

Is that correct, would drive me away if I was ordering...

Have tried reverting all of the references to the checkout in Design/Layouts, but has made no difference at all.

Any ideas...

I found United Kingdom preselected as location, and no opportunity to change it. That's not standard 'Request Location Early' behaviour.

Ah! Looking further, you want the UK split into three and the user to select one of those three 'locations'. You need to amend Actinic's Location table to add the new choices, and then get back to standard Actinic behaviour where the user is allowed to choose.

Probably best to launch a TEST mode site where you can play with this until you get it right.

Just spent the last four hours trying to revert the country selection back to a list, as Bill kindly pointed out was set to Uk only.

Could somebody point me in the right direction....

It needs to tie in with the tax tab. Shipping and tax go together in actinic, both gotta be done. Make sure you get them matched up if you haven't already.
