you probably haven't set the charges up correctly. There is a dialogue box to the right hand side which is where you need to set the prices you want to charge. The AUG should give all the hlpe needed.

As always we did go through all of the FQAs and manuals etc.

What we have found is that we can not get the shipping charge if we use QUANITY. We have resorted to using VALUE and this works. We have then done a series of random changes between VALUE and QUANITY and quanity always fails.

The URL of the web site is http://www.edinburghsilvergifts.co.uk/

Please do not laugh at the simplistic problems that are on the site due to color problems i.e. white on white as we upgraded to 8.5.2 and are in the process of rebuilding the pages due to the changes that the upgrade inforced on us.

          Many thanks
          John

Can you paste a screen shot of the quantity settings into the forum. It could be problem with the setup.

I am sure this is - as always- something daft I am doing, or not doing.

Think about it - upto qty1 £2.99 = a qty less than 1 so no shipping charge

For example, in the table below, customers who order 1 to 5 products will pay £1.50, and customers who order 6-10 products will pay £2.50.
                  Quantity
                  Cost
                  5
                  £1.50
                  10
                  £2.50
From the help files - it allways pays to read the manual.

Have you selected the 'global free over' by mistake on the configuration tab of shipping?

As i have said at least 30 times before on the forum, use shipping by weight on your site, it is by far the best and most flexible system.

So why is the qty still 1 - NOTHING will work until you change that to aqty ABOVE 1.

As lee says shipping by qty is crap

I cannot believe this thread - basic shipping cannot get much easier. I see you are employing a designer - you should kick his arse if he cannot do this.

WTF are you upgrading a live site - this is what a test site is for. And that white on white text will almost certainly get you a thumping from google when googlebot finds it.

Have you tried setting by weight as suggested:
                              eg:
each product is given a weight of 1kg

Shipping Settings by weight in kg.

                              up to 1kg = £2.99
                              up to 2 = £3.99
                              up to 3 = £4.99
up to 5 = £5.99 etc up to the maximum shipping charge (or global charge thereafter)

Use the weights to your advantage, not as real weights.
