    8.5.1HFUA / MultiUser (& multi-site) / Vista

    Hi

I have a client who has just replaced one of their laptops with a Vista job.

They run v8.5.1HFUA multi-user, and this laptop is one of the secondary machines.

They have installed 8.5.1 on the new laptop, and connected to the network share Sites folder successfully.

The site design has custom components in it, and in response to Actinic's dialogue, they select option 2 'Add revised design elements to Library' - I have always taken this approach with upgrades.

    Problems:

After selecting 'Add revised design elements to Library', Actinic responds 'Preparing imports', then 'An error occured whilst preparing imports. Check your settings.'

Whilst looking through business settings, the client reported that the PSP (WorldPay) option had no password, and a long ID (which is not present in the current and functional (XP) machines in the multi-user setup).

Have talked the client through a re-install - in case the PSP module was corrupt - and the client reported that after the main install, Actinic asked for a reboot, and as the PC was shutting down, a 'Welcome to PSP...' dialogue appeared. The PSP installer did not run when the PC restarted.

Are these known issues with Vista, and if so, what's the fix?

I don't want to move on to another minor release version or build if I can help it, as I have other clients running 8.5.1HFUA.

    Many thanks, Dan

Are they in XP compatability mode?

      Hi Mal

I'm not sure, I'm not familiar with Vista, how does one go about checking that?

Do you think that may solve the problem?

      Thanks Dan

I've switched catalog.exe into XP SP2 compatibility mode, and re-installed (repaired) the installation, which has now allowed the PSP module to install, and picked up the WorldPay settings correctly from the Primary multi-user machine.

However, the Layout Upgrade error still occurs:

There is a new standard version of Add To Cart Button Image layout. Do you wish to:
        * Replace you version of the layout
        * Retain your version and ignore the new standard version
        * Retain your version but install a new standard version as Add To Cart Button Image v8_5_1_0

        All three options result in:

        Upgrading Design, Preparing Import (checked)....

        then:

        MultiUser

An unexpected error occurred while trying to carry out the import.
Please check your settings and try again.

Site upload seems to work fine, and all functionality is there on the website, but this upgrade warning won't go away.

Can anyone throw any light on this.

        Many thanks, Dan

          Hi Dan,

I would suggest compacting your database and then check Actinic for the errors. If it does not make a difference, please raise a support ticket @ http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm

          Kind regards,
