    Adding an FAQ Section

Could anyone give me some pointers on how to add an FAQ section? I've added the section within Actinic but need to link to it - not sure how to do this. Ideally I want an 'faq' nav button on my nav bar that matches the others. There isn't one but I could adapt another in photoshop perhaps.

I'm assuming I need to create a new layout??

if you add the FAQ as a brochure page and not as a product section it will pretty well do what you want

It will depend how you have done your navigation bar.

If it is hard coded, theny you'll have some more coding to do.

If it is a generic Actinic nav bar then, as long as the FAQ page has been set up as a brochure page, then it should appear automatically.

A URL might help so we can see what's what.

I believe I have created it as a brochure page. When I upload the site there's no way of accessing it. There isn't a 'faq_image_navigation_button' layout to insert, so I'm assuming I have to make one, including the button image itself. Am I thinking along the right lines are am I way off?

Looks to me like you have set this up correctly in Actinic but maybe used the wrong layout. I think that you want to insert the BrochureNavBar variable rather than trying to insert each button individually.

The page will be on the server but you are not able to see it as the layout you are using is probably set not to display brochure pages. I would simply hard link to the page.

To find out the page name Settings | Business Settings | Options > tick Miscellaneous Options - show page name when editing.

This will the list the page name of your brochure page eg faq.html

Use standard HTML to link to your page eg:

              <a href="http://www.site.com/acatalog/faq.html" title="FAQ">FAQ</a>

changing site.com and faq.html to suit accordingly

Thanks Jont. You seem to be on my wavelength. I have tried what you've suggested but wasn't sure on the url. I didn't know you could change the setting in the way you suggest.

Once you can see the page name in the content tree simply append it to http://www.ductstore.co.uk/acatalog/ to give your link

There is stuff coming at you from all directions in Actinic .. only time messing around with it is the solution as you will see all sorts of goodies in there.

if you plan to have more than one brochure page you would probably be better off adding the variable for the brochure navigation to your overall layout. then actinic and`the `underlying theme will format it for you and add the correct link
