    Is this possible?

When we upload the website this can take around 4 hours to complete.

As we have Actinic also installed on a 2nd machine which we use for testing, would it be possible for us to copy the database from the uploading PC to the 2nd machine so that we can continue to add products etc and the transfer the database back once the upload has been completed?

All files and folders are the same on both machines so there wouldn't be a problem with missing files etc.

I can't see any reason why this would not work but would appreciate any advice on problems that I may not realise.

    Kind regards

    Jason

You could copy the database from the main pc to the other before starting your upload and copy it back again later but you may end up having to do a complete upload if Actinic thinks the all the files have changed again when you put the database back on the main pc.

Backup and then give it a try to make sure.

Fairly sure the time stamps on the copy will cause the site to be reloaded as it thinks the files have changed.

How about scheduling a task to upload at say midnight to save time during working hours?
