Is it necessary to get products from V8 into Sage

I originally posted this at the back of a thread in the wrong section - doh!! (V7). I didn't get any answers, hoping people don't think I'm double posting , just thought I might have more luck getting an answer if I post a V8 question in a V8 forum.

on one of my projects I am coming to sage a bit late... haven't got any products in the sage database at the moment... and to be honest the method in http://community.actinic.com/showpos...4&postcount=18 sounds like a bit of a frag...

As the site is in 8.5.2 so does that make things any easier??

Do I need to have products both in Sage and Actnic - or can I use sage to keep an accountancy reference of sales and receipts and let Actinic do Product entry... not sure we really need stock control at this stage as we are mostly drop shipping..

We just use sage line 50 for accounts

You can just use Actinic for everything else product info etc and just use Actinic to sage link to transfer invoice details over to sage which willread the details in and do all its little sums

WE did used to keep both items of software uptodate with product id and prices etc but havnt bothered for a couple of years as I see little benifit
