    Actinic Installation / snapshots

I have a new installation of Actinic 8 on a new pc and I have been creating a new site and taking regular snapshots as backups which I have been successfully importing as required so it looked like everything was ok.

I have just imported the very first snapshot which was in a different location and now I want to import the snapshot I took this morning again but cannot find it!

I have done a search in VISTA (how I hate VISTA!) and have found my snapshots but they are shown as as file type of shortcut rather than an acd file and the folder for the shortcut links to the roaming profile. The only actual ACD file I can find is the very first snapshot which was beginning of Jan and very early stages for my site.

Have I got to add all my information again? have I been creating virtual snapshots? I was getting ready to launch my site and am very frustrated (again).

Just as a second question, when I was using Actinic 6 on a different pc everything was installed within the program files and snapshots were stored in a site backups folder. With Actinic 8 the program is stored in C:\Program Files\Actinic v8 but my images are stored in my documents folder not in program files, is my software installed incorrectly?

They are probably within the site backups folder within your actinic folder. Are you saying that you cannot search for .acd files and find their location? right click on the file and view properties if not clear where they are.

How obvious! the right click & properties worked. Not sure why I could not find them in the search in VISTA but very grateful to find my snapshot again.

Do you think it is a problem that all my folders and images are in the sites\site 1 folders and this is under \owner\documents and not program files?

If you set it up using default settings and recommended folders for images etc. there should be no problems as far as i can see.

I just installed it - I am not aware that I changed any folders or anything.
