Payment Method Layout in Checkout Page

Hi All

Recently we have setup a secure server for one of our customers, so they can take credit cards details through their website as well as through their PayPal account they have set up.

However, when a customer goes to check out, the Payment Method section looks abit mis-leading. Please see attachment.

The PayPal option is in the drop down by default, but it still has the fields for entering credit card details? These fields shouldn't be displayed unless the customer selects "Credit Card" in the drop down.

Is there any way to fix this?

There is, but quite a bit of custom work to implement, when Paypal is selected it needs to run a routine which hides the relevant fields on the page. Best to encourage the use of a PSP instead, no issues then.

I've tried convincing, but they aint having it.

Is there a tutorial anywhere that you know of?

I do not know of a tutorial, as to whether that will work, i couldn't say without looking into it. You need a routine (usually Javascript i'd expect) that monitors what is selected on the screen. Once it detects Paypal it would then hide the options below. Those items would need to be converted to CSS layout with a visibility of none set when Paypal is selected. You have the Javascript, the CSS and the recode of the table to deal with, it should be achievable, but hardly worth the effort, they will be forced to convert in the not too distant future - they will not have the choice.

It's a similar process to the dynamic CSS style changes you can select via a drop down.
