We have the main products of our site linked to a Sage database via Actinic Link. However we also have some second-hand items available which are not included in the Sage database, but are stored in a separate Access database file. This is added to the online store via the 'external links' in Actinic.
Unfortunately, these second-hand items are included by default in the marketing lists (new products, also bought, related items) - but we don't want them to be.
My questions is: can these be excluded in an easy way with the minimum of effort?
When we were using v7, we created fields in the database which held the information used by Actinic (template used, stock, price etc.) which were then mapped to the relevant fields in the 'External links' window.
However, I can't see any field in this window that links through to the 'include in marketing' checkboxes that appear on each product under the marketing tab. I had originally hoped to be able to create a field in the database (with a value of 'false') which, when linked, would in effect turn off all of the marketing for these products.
Can someone please advise if there any way of doing this automatically?
My other alternative is to turn the marketing off on each product manually, which I don't want to do, as we have 1,125 items in the second-hand database …
