    design wizard background colour

Hi, just been looking at the design wizard, nice for a quick basic set up. One thing i thought might be better if there was an option in it when choosing your colours if you could choose the overall background colour.
I am sure a lot of users will be asking how to change the background colour from a default white.
The is a very useful feature especially if you choose to centre the overall layout in the browser. The overall background colour can be set to a complimentary colour.

This is a really good idea - although this is controlled in 'Design | Themes | Advanced' anyway - which is a logical next place to go after running the Wizard.

I might do a bit about how to go there in the last stage of the Wizard. There are lots of other useful commands there to know about anyway.

possable bug in adavanced theme colours

hi, had a problem when changing pallett colours in themes advanced.
After using the deisgn wizard to set basic colours if you then gointo adavanced themes and change the pallett colours the background changes to a random colour of its own accord. Most strange.

        Hi Wesley

Are you working with a clean v9 site or an upgraded one? If it's an upgraded one, can I ask you to upload a snapshot so I can try it for myself?

I'll email you with the FTP details.

upgraded site from v7.06, no problems on upgrade, did not upgrade old design, opted for a new one in actinic v9.
          Uploading snapshot for you now.

            OK - I'll give this a spin.

The thing to look out for is the 'Background Image' selected in 'Settings | Site Options | General' (at the bottom). It will probably say 'background1.gif'. Try changing it to 'theme_main_background.gif'

hi, after making this change the nav bar colour at the top of page now changes to the overall background colour, I need it to be a separate colour.
                Thanks

Unfortunately there are limitations to the actinic colouring, you will be best to change/add the colours in the actinic css file for menu bars and things like that, then you can specify all the colours independantly

If you select a nav button and then use the 'navigate to parent layout' button at the bottom of the layout code window (you may need to click it more than once to get to the layout that contains the navigation bar code on it).
