I thought the posts were quite funny, read them to my colleagues.

    I appriciate all your advice.

Im currently working on my first actinic project: http://gfc.alphaclient.co.uk/

Its near completion and will be going live next week. I have handled all development and am just tying up all the loose ends. There might be a fiar few posts off me the next couple of days!

Im more used to developing non e-commerce sites and im pretty good with my css/html. I used cubecart to develop an e-commerce site for my dissertation on "e-commerce" while at uni. Iv currently been working for an SEO company developing sites for around 7 months.

        it does look really good.

However, pages like THIS are looking rather different in IE vs FF and might be worth a look at.

Just thought I'd point it out.

Thanks for all your responses :-)

I prefer developing purely withs divs and css

Iv just been getting used to controlling actinic design, normally i use dreamweaver and have more flexibility over my pages. If i had the time i would of used divs.

                * Note this site is a redesign of an existing website developed on actinic 6 or 7... We were handed the original site and had to restrucutre it and apply a new design/functionality.

I have been doing multiple browser testing and markup validation but its a masive site and iv been working on it for months now...

Any ideas on how i can solve this problem? I experienced this error when viewing the site in firefox on my mac at home.

                Cheers

looking at the page source and doing a count of 'div', you have 81. should be an even number - every <div> should have a corresponding </div>.

I notice a <div><div> just before the Mandalay Suite link. That could be it...

/edit - ignore that - was counting the word "inDIVidual"...

Thanks for your attempt! Im sure it is something like that, maybe i need a <br clear"all" /> not sure. I need to get it sorted though. Any one got an idea?

get the firebug add on for Firefox and take a look.
It'll probably become obvious when you can compare it against what's in Actinic then.

                        ...

I have some cr*ppy anti virus software called kaspersky on my machine and it is preventing me from using firefox. Firefox simple wont open!

Actinic is currently set to preview pages in firefox when i click offline page prievew it trys and opens firefox which wont open.

What i need to know is how to set Actinic to use IE as the default preview browser. Any ideas? Its simple to change in Dreamweaver.

                          woops,

figured it out now, was as simple as setting ie to my default browser under internet settings in ie. Shame about firefox i need it for development.

IE7 has a developer add in too.
It's not as good as FF's firebug IMO, but does pretty much the same thing.
                            Worth checking out anyway

Well if you use the link between actinic and DW you can have loads of fun.

Obviously after you have launched the site and have a little more time on your hands, use it to create external designs for actinic then you can play with you css till your hearts content
