    Pay for the Booklet

Just received email from Actinic and note for free upgrade to V9 (cover customer) they are going to charge us £15 per copy of the manual, to my way of thinking you should get the software on a cd as well as the operating manual for free, thats what we pay the cover for

For £15 I would expect one of those 15000 page, 1 ton manuals you see in Waterstones that tell you everything apart from simple who do I type questions

NOT WRONG - the manual has always been one of the weaker points of Actinic IMO (its been discussed at length before many times) - maybe the V9 manual has 15000 pages

Cool if it has, it can double up as a V8 manual too

Chris - I think the £15 is if you want Actinic shipped in a box with a hard copy of the Getting Started Guide. The software automatically comes with a soft copy - which you can access by going to 'Help | Starter Guide'.

                Chris

I dont give a damm about the disk but the booklet is much handier to put on the shelf and use thanprinting out a guide putting it in a folder etc and after time loosing half the book, £15.00 still seems very high for what in the past has been very basic.

Maybe i am the odd one but i just hate softcopy manuals

By the way great idea about the reduced courses, i will book mine tomorrow

Chris - the £15 just covers the admin and shipping costs of getting you a box with a hard-copy starter guide. It doesn't represent the cost of the manual.

Well if the cost involves alot of things then if your going on the course chris perhaps you can pick one up for a £5er, as all you want is the book

Pick one with a coffee stain on it, you can get a 'used' reduction then.
