Added extras + costing

Ive had a read through bits the pieces reguarding the different costing of items and I think ive over complicated what im trying to do.

Instead of having say 5 different quantities listed in the component permutations with different prices - what is the simplest way to give the components an individual price.

An Example of this would be:

S [ ]
M [ ]
L [ ]
Numbering [ ]
Embroidary [ ]

The [ ] represents an input box in which you can type a number. Obv each item - s,m,l,numbering and embroidary would have a different cost multiplied by how many the customer would enter.

Is this possible ?

Hi,

I'm afraid that the only way to have different quanties for choices is to set them up as separate products, otherwise the choices take on the same quantity as the main product.

Is there a way to make it so that if you have 3 attributes.

Size
Numbering
Embroidery

If Numbering and Embroidery are set to none, it will charge you for the Size. However if you want to add numbers, it will add on a price for that numbering?

This wold work if I were to have them all in the one component wouldnt it ?

Yes, that's right. You would set the prices in the 'permutations' tab of the component. However, if a customer ordered 2 of the main product then they would also see 2 for the choices.

Hmm, I will be using the quantity box next to the add cart button.

If your 2nd attribute is going to be the same for all products then you can copy and paste it between the products.

Some sizes tend to have different prices, and all the shirts change - is it possible to just have to set the prices of the shirts rather than having to add £2 per shirt then work it minus VAT for every single thing. Basically meaning its only the shirts i ever need to put the prices into - I can just set everything else to +£2 +£4 +£6 ?

Hi there.

I THINK the way to do this would be to have each size of shirt as a separate product. You could then have 'Numbering', 'Embroidery' and 'Sponsors Image' as optional components within each product. So you would have three tick boxes per size of shirt and each shirt would have it's own quantity field. You could then use the 'Single add to Cart Button' per page so you have a single cart button to add all the selected options to the cart in one go.

You would need to play with the product and component layouts to get the checkboxes and quantity fields all lining up, but you could potentially end up with a layout like this:
