Might be we should think outside the box - keeping QuickBooks but dropping Actinic. There must be another e-commerce shopping cart who support better integration, with similar money.

At the end of the day we are the consumer we should have freedom of choice.

It's highly unlikely Actinic would ever drop Sage support because there are a lot more users.

Of course, it is everyone's perogative to choose the software they use whether Actinic, Quickbooks, Sage or anything else.

However, it's worth pointing out that:

      - these interfaces tend to be problematic because they involve tax and other calculations. When the two packages being interfaced handle things in different ways you tend to get loads of issues around rounding, discounts and tax. The result is that they are, literally, an order of magnitude more difficult to develop and maintain than an initial estimate would suggest

      - other companies hit the same problems that we do, including the amount of work and the relative size of the markets. I've seen a few companies promise in this area, but few deliver over the years. As the biggest supplier of ecommerce systems to small companies in the UK, I don't know if anyone is better placed to make a Quickbooks interface work financially than us - and we've found it difficult

Having said all of that, a third party maybe could take on our code. After all, we have done much of the work and their overheads would be lower. However, I guess that they would charge for the service. I will try to explore this one.
