    Flash won't work in Safari

    I've just been playing about with some flash animations which are linked to html pages. These links work fine in IE6 and 7 and Firefox, but when I try them on a Mac in Safari the links just don't work when the flash file is embeded in a fragment in Actinic. When the flash file is not in Actinic it works fine. Is this to do with Panther, Safari, Actinic or all 3?

    Does anyone know why this is? Or even if there's some code I can use to get around this problem?

    Thanks!!

    Sounds like the fragment layout is messing with the code, perhaps you coudl provide a URL and the code you have added for us to see. Are you using embed and object tags or the swfobject method?

      the website is mattressmagic.co.uk. The flash file is at the top of the home page.

      the code I've used to embed it into the fragment is...

      !!<<object classid="clsid27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,29,0" width="567" height="123" >
      <param name="movie" value="http://mattressmagic.co.uk/acatalog/promo.swf">
      <param name="quality" value="high">
      <embed src="http://mattressmagic.co.uk/acatalog/promo.swf" width="567" height="123" align="top" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed>
      <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="ieupdate.js"></script>
      </object>>!!

        Hi,

        Did you sort this out? I've just checked out the site on a Safari browser and the flash image works fine.

          Are you looking at it in Safari on a Mac? If so, does it open the external pages? I know it works fine in Safari on a PC.

            Hi,

            Are you looking at it in Safari on a Mac?
            Yes

            If so, does it open the external pages?
            Yes, Sleepeze link goes to the Sleepeze Mattress page etc. It worked on the three different links that I clicked on.

            I'm using Safari 3.2.1

              Ah rite, ok. Just out of interest, what version of Mac OS are you using?
