Bestseller List Problems & two more

The site is v8 but was developed by someone else using v7.

It is quite feasible the best sellers list was hardcoded into v7 and has transferred into v8 "as is" ... this would account for the lack of updating in v8. If you click on the list in design tab mode and navigate to the outer layout have a look if the sellers list is being inserted by a pink layout (as it should in v8) or is simply HTML code (which it would have been in v7)

In my experience upgraded V7 sites are plagued with these sorts of issues - I would ditch the design and start again. Try one of the V8 themes with it all done for you.
