      hmmm hadnt thought of offsite !

      OMG i missed that !

      hehe, I had thought about uploading my site snapshot on a daily basis to my website, etc but as my snapshot is 117,345 kb its a bit hard to do that

      Whilst I have you in the discussion, any idea how to centre a logo ? I have been trying for ages today and fed up, searched all the forums but cant find an answer.

      www.petitesouris.co.uk

      I only just managed to get my heart menus working properly today finally, and would really love my logo at the top of the page to be centred instead of off to the left, dont suppose you, with all your knowledge know how to do that do ya ?

      Forgot to say you need to click on one of the sections to see that the next logo is off to the left, the first page you click on is centred, cant find how to get the other pages to do that !!!

          I'll make a deal with you, sort out your avatar which is not working for any of us and i will tell you the answer, it's annoying the crap out of me lol. Deal? Ok i trust you to sort it out.

          You have two templates on your store, one for brochure pages and one for product pages. Your home page is centered as the brochure page template has align="center" added to the <td> containing the logo. On your product template, you do not have that align included. If you compare the two, you should see it. Just look for the logo code and it will be to the left of that.

            It looks like you might have 3 templates actually in play. One centers the logo, one sends it left and one sends it right. Try and rationalise your site to use a maximum of two templates if you can, preferably one for ease of management. Check out the overall layouts specified on your brochure pages, your home page and about us page, although both brochure pages, seem to be using a different template, which is a very strange way to have things setup. I expect you've been playing with overall layouts on their layout tabs at some stage.

                A client has just had the same error.

                They were trying to move product categories and then one of them disappeared all of a sudden, they then did a database compact and the category reappeared, but some of the products from the category have disappeared and they now get the following error;

                This file contains duplicate products which have become disconnected from their original owner.

                These have been deleted as it is not possible to repair them automatically.

                The file contains product references which are corrupt, but may give some clue as to where this data came from in order for you to manually rebuild the data.

                The full data for the duplicates can be found in the table 'tempOrphanDuplicateQuery'.

                This table will be deleted when you restart the product. if you want to retain it for future use, you should rename the table in the database.

                ---------------------------------------------------

                ---------------------------------------------------

                Duplicates with no valid product reference:

                ---------------------------------------------------

                The duplicate in section 'Larger Family Birthday Cards 165mm X 240mm' with short description 'To My Husband' has a corrupt product reference '410' and therefore has been deleted
                How do we go about resolving this?

                Their last backup was on the 24th March so if possible we'd not want to go back to that.

                  The client still has a copy of the site that "appears" to be ok, on their hosting account. Would it be possible to download the site files from the hosting server to their Sites directory on their PC to resolve the issue?

                    No, you cannot as Actinic has already generated the files and cannot generate the html files back to their initial 'Actinic' coding.

                    With regards to your initial problem, I'd take a full backup of the Site1 folder (ie. Right-click the folder > Copy then Paste it somewhere safe) before you try anything else.

                    Once you've taken suitable backups - I would try the Help > Troubleshooting > Recover feature - it won't make any odds if it breaks it completely because you'll always have your site1 folder backup

                      Thanks Grant. I didn't think so, but was worth asking. I am making a backup of the Sites/Site1 folder now and will try out the Recover feature. If something goes wrong with that I just need to replace the Sites/Site1 folder with the backup I'm making now to be back to where I am now?

                        Yep, that's it. Just make sure you've closed down Actinic, copy your backup 'Site1' folder into the Actinic directory - then select 'Yes To All' when prompted for what to do with the files duplicate files.

                          I can't seem to find the Recover option though. Here is the screen I get;

                            My mistake:

                            Housekeeping > Backup > Recover Database

                              Got it. So this feature just restores the latest backup of the Actinic database? If so we'd like to really to avoid that if possible. The client doesn't close their Actinic software (or computer) down often so the last "on close" database backup is from the 24th March. Is there more to this feature than I've given credit for?

                                Perhaps not. In the Site1 folder Actinic automatically creates an ActinicCatalog.zip file - it holds a copy of the database but I'm not 100% sure on what data it holds (my live database is +65mb, this copy is only 34mb) - again, you've got a backup of the site1 folder so you should be OK to try just about anything
