wireless, and plenty of battery life. we have our packing people walking about testing them. a secondhand psp can be picked up for less than 100 pounds nowadays.

    requirements:
    - a sony psp, (no modifications required)
    - actinet
    - wireless network

expect a beta some time soon.

        I'm there!

        Seriously, Gabe...fantastic stuff.

Was just wondering actually..any reason Actinet wouldn't work on a Blackberry?

The current version of the actinet interface, takes advantage of some pretty advanced ajax and javascript. It was nececarry, to facilitate a more 'windows' like interface, so that, usage would be intuitive.

The blackberry cant render this content.

After this mobile version of the UI is complete, you'll be able to view it on anything, like mobile phones, (as said) the iphone, ipod touch, psp, nintendo wii, ps3, etc.

          anything that renders html content.

i understand that technologically, this is a step backwards for the Actinet core, but this wont affect the current interface. So, yes, viewing down the pub (or at a strip club), is possible.

(and something i never thought of)

                just had a thought,

we run "Opticon H19a" units, they are GPS, GPRS, WIFI, and a BARCODE reader, Mobile-6 operating system and waterproof(ish) all built in to one unit,

what a fantastic combination that would make around the warehouse,

take the order, pick the order . . . scan the barcode, . . . and then take it down the pub as your mobile phone to "continue the hard work" - seems you'll never need to go home again

sorry, I actually meant the mobile version, not the current version. I should have made that clearer.

Thats one of the reasons why I ditched my Blackberry. They are seriously being left behind now when compared to the iphone.

                      Gabe,

Leave them poster sized! I was needing some fingerprints to trace out and leave at crime scenes. They'll never catch me now!

                      Mal,

I notice that "sent from my iPhone" in your emails to me. My wife has one and they are so well implemented that I'm tempted. I'm not so keen on Aplles control freakery, however. I spend half the year abroad and there's no way I'd want to be stuck with O2's roaming charges for that duration. Anyone out these dared to Jailbreak / Unlock theirs?

The roaming charges are steep agreed but no worse than I had using vodfone in Spain. I'm off to Canada again soon so I will shut down the data side of the phone and stick with using hotspots which the phone is pretty good at finding

                              Gab,

Quick side note, I am planning on buying a couple of copies of Actinet but can't see any way to add them to the basket on your site! Is one being thick?
                              Cheers
