    v9 Released

    We are pleased to announce the release of Actinic version 9. The new version includes a range of enhancements; particularly in the areas of useability, site management, taxation, order processing across multiple channels, and site deployment by web designers.

    Also, the 9.0.0 version that is released is ICLA. This is the same version as the second beta release that was sent out, so any work done in the beta 2 can be licensed with a release license key and will be fully supported.

      Hi Chris

      I raised the point about license keys after the V8 shambles and you specifically told me this would be addressed, yet i find i have to order online, no telephone requests then get an email telling me it is going to be weeks?

      may i ask why, i dont want the manual or the cd just the license key would be nice

        I signed up a couple of weeks ago through the renewals.actinic.co.uk link and still heard nothing then or yet

          I've just spoken to admin and they are confident that they will beat the stated lead times comfortably.

          We do have a much slicker process this time and upgrades will be shipped much more quickly than for v8.

          However, even the slickest system takes a hit when a big proportion of our user base all make requests in a short time period, which is the case right now.

          It would be good if you could post again if you haven't received your upgrade by the middle of next week - just so I know what's actually coming down on the streets

            I understand what your saying Chris, but ermm i would have opted for the - all subscribers that have upgrades included would at sometime want a new license key.

            Then perhaps you would have them already done, but if its going to be next week then fine by me.

                The version 9 upgrade process is now much more refined, I would like to think we have learnt from past mistakes.

                We do not send out upgrades to all Cover customers, for the simple reason not all cover customers require or want an upgrade, this would be a serious waste of time effort and resources.

                With our new upgrade process I can quite quickly locate both your upgrade requests ( you should have both received a confirmation e-mail ) and see that you have both opted to wait until the release of v9.0.1.

                V9.0.1 has of course not been released, but you will receive your upgrade very soon after the release.

                  Neil the option to wait was my impression that this was waiting for the CD, as i dont want the CD is did not want to wait for the key. I wanted the key now, not in 4 weeks, i ignored that section thinking it was just about the cd

                  do you need me to change that re register or call you, ah i cant call?

                    I didn't tick the 'option to wait' box for anything!
                    I deliberately left it unticked because I too assumed it was referring to people wanting the CD.

                      Looking at it again I can see how you may have seen it this way, however these are two different statements. If it has caused confusion to you both it may have to others so will look to change this.
