    Extenal Linking Maximum Product Amount

    Hi everyone,

We are looking at externally linking a database for a new actinic site. What is the amximum amount of products that actinic could pull in an upload to a live site?

Our client has a database that could potentially reach 200,000 products, but I dont think the softwre could handle this personally, therefore a bespoek soltion may be the way forward.

Any comments regarding this would be greatly appreciated, form personal experience.
    Regards.

They might be best using the enterprise version if you are going to sell Actinic to them.

      Hi Jan,

No this a completely new build (should have explained that - sorry!). We are giving the client two options of Actinic or a possible bespoke solution and are trying to weigh up the pros and cons of both.

        Hi Lee,

We only test the software up to 20,000 products although the limitation is really on the Access database used by the standard software. I don't think that they would be able to take 200,000 products.

As Jan suggests, the client could use the Enterprise software which can be based on a SQL database but with that many products the software could still run slowly depending on the number of sections / products with choices / user definable properties. We couldn't guarantee anything for such a large catalogue.
