    Warning Message on Backup

    Hi all

I have just done a backup of my shop and a warning message has come up which says:

    Warnings
This site includes files that are outside the Actinic installation directory.
On importing the site these files will be delivered to a temporary location within the Actinic installation directory.
Manual intervention will be required to restore the site after import.

    D:\Clients\Current\Endacott\big_in_brackets\checkout.html
    D:\Clients\Current\Endacott\big_in_brackets\actinic.html
    D:\Clients\Current\Endacott\big_in_brackets\index.html

I designed the home page and checkout templates in Dreamweaver and registered them with Actinic Designer and these are the files. Is this going to cause a problem when I deploy the site to my client or does it just mean that he won't be able to change the design as these files are not available to him?

Did do a search on the forum for this but could only find info on error messages not warning messages.

    Thanks

The html should reside in your "Site1" folder (or what ever you've called it) before you register your design with Actinic.
    • Unregister the design
    • copy the HTML to Site1
    • register the design.

That should sort your problem out and ensure the HTML is backed up correctly.

      From Actinic help file :

      4. Click 'Register' to register the design.
At this point, you will be asked whether you want to move your html file, and any supporting files, to the Actinic site folder (usually called 'Site1'). You don't have to do this, but if you do move the files, it will ensure that all the files used by the design always be previewed, uploaded and backed-up correctly.
so you don't have to do step 2 in my first post.

Sorry I haven't responded sooner Easter intervened!

I did move the three files to my site 1 folder when prompted to do so as above, so they are all in my site 1 folder already.

          Hi Kaye,

The layouts must be referencing the files outside the Site1 folder. Please check by opening the layout(s) you created that are using these files and click on the 'Edit Layout Details' button and check the 'filename of external file' field. They should be pointing to the files you copied to your site1 folder.
