naviagtion buttons

hi, trying to work out how to add a new button to the navigation bar.
There seems to be lots of ways in v8 to do this, in v7 i just hand coded them but wanted to try out some actinic one sin v9.
Basicly i want to add some buttons to link to my brochure pages
