    Conflicting file name

    Hi all,

I uploading my site for the first time and am getting the conflicting file names error.

    D:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Sites\Jenwill cards\thumb\10.jpg
    D:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Sites\Jenwill cards\with bkground\10.jpg

I understand this issue and made the required changes weeks ago. The problem I am having is that the folders and images do not exist anymore and Acticic is still seeing them some how ????

    Any ideas?

First try Housekeeping, Compact Databases and if that fails then try a Database search using Access to find and delete the bogus info.

I have had this problem for days now without getting a solution. Can you tell me how to locate the database and how to do a search with Acess please.

I don't recommend you dabble in the database unless you understand what you would be doing - and I mean no offence by that.

Rather do an export of the catalog and check in Excel for any dulpications - which is a simpler and safer task.

I have done that and even deleted the folder where it thinks the duplicate image is located but still no luck.

It's not the fact that there are two files with the same name that causes the problem. It's the fact that the files are being referenced within actinic that causes the problem.

You have to find the product within Actinic that uses the wrong image reference and correct it.

I know it might take ages , if I check every image link manually , will I see the wrongly referenced one or its something that is 'embeded inside the programming'

I was hoping to check only the products that I added after my last update of the site.
What other suggestions besides the excell spreadsheet can i use?

If you look at the remaining image called 10.jpg then it should give you some idea of which products are referencing it.

The image reference will be shown in the image 'box' of your products. Once you find the dodgy one just browse to find the correct one and click OK.

The bad reference should be one of the new products added if you were able to upload previously.
