    Shopping Cart Page not available

    Hi,

After some e-mail SMTP problems over the weekend I carried out a test order this morning and the order itself worked fine. This afternoon when I tried another test order the site would not allow me to access the Shopping Cart page, instead got the following message:

Essential work is being carried out on the shop. It is not possible to place orders at the moment. Please try again later.
Please wait for your browser to forward you to the next page or click here.

I haven't uploaded any changes inbetween test orders so assume this is a server problem of some sort (cannot get through to my hosting company at the moment).

Can anyone shed some light on this? Apols if its something simple I or the host company has done!

    Thanks....

Try refreshing the site - make sure it has not been suspended

      Hi Mal,

Yes, have tried that, have uploaded again and checked that ordering is not 'suspended' in the Business Settings and its not. Also have now spoken with the hosting company who are sure there is no problem their side.

The other odd thing is that that when I try to 'retrieve orders' no orders appear and yet I created the first test order successfully this morning which isn't being downloaded?

Maybe an ISP dropout or a problem with the site code - has it been working ok recently?

Yes, had some design developement work done for me recently by a developer but this is the first time I've hade this problem. I've been trying to get an e-mail SMTP problem sorted out, which co-incidentally I have sorted today, maybe all the changes/uploads I was experimenting with damaged something along the line somewhere.

              Thanks again though.....

Anything is possible I guess although I wouldn't have thought the two could be connected.
